🐾 Sponsor a Sanctuary Cat – Eve🐾

Eve is an absolute love bug with a huge heart and a strong grip when she cuddles. Eve came into our care on Christmas Eve (23rd December) through Hay Animal Rescue Team. When she was first found, she was very scraggly, with brown discharge around her nose and eyes that initially looked like flu symptoms. She was taken to the vet for a full health check, started on eye drops, and closely monitored. Despite appearances, she wasn’t sneezing, and further assessment showed that the marks around her eyes and nose were likely scabbing and scarring from fights, not flu.
At the time, there were no open spaces elsewhere, so we took Eve in — and very quickly realised she needed far more care than originally expected. She settled in like one of our own sanctuary cats, and we made the decision to take full responsibility for her ongoing care.

🧡 Eve’s health journey
Eve tested negative for FIV and FeLV and has had her first vaccination. A spay was planned, but during pre-op checks she was found to be anaemic due to an extremely severe worm infestation — one of the worst we’ve seen in the sanctuary. Because of this, spaying has been postponed until her health improves. Right now, our priority is helping Eve regain strength, stability, and good overall health before any further procedures are considered.

🖤 Eve today
Despite everything she’s been through, Eve is an EXTREME love bug.
She adores:
- Head rubs
- Cuddles
- Little love bites and nips
- Wrapping her arms around you and snuggling right in

She is affectionate, people-focused, and deeply comforting to be around. She hasn’t had the easiest reactions to other cats so far, but she also hasn’t been fully exposed due to her health. With time, patience, and an experienced home, there is potential for her to live with other animals — but this would need careful discussion and assessment.

🏠 Eve’s future
Eve is not currently available for adoption.
Her health must improve, her anaemia must resolve, and she must be well enough to be spayed before rehoming can even be considered.
We would love to see her settled in a home one day, but there is no rush. Eve will always have a safe place with us, and her wellbeing comes first. Sanctuary is not a failure for her — it is security, safety, and love while she heals.
